Vice President, Business Development OEM/ODM Products Licensing

This individual will be directly responsible for building the company’s OEM & ODM products licensing business.  This is an entrepenurial role focusing on new business development and sales with global partners and customers.  This role requires hands-on business development and sales at a senior level targeting equipment manufacturers on a global level. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the company’s executive team to develop new customers, partners, OEMs and ODMs sales in the wireless Access Point, semiconductor or devices arena
  • Work toward achieving sales goals within the established schedules, guidelines and standards
  • Work to establish and further relationships and business opportunities with leading businesses in an established market and open new markets.
  • Coordinate with company-wide business development and product development efforts. Identifying business opportunities, penetrating into accounts and driving business and technical activities
  • Promote WiFi3 custom silicon products, chipsets & radio cards solution to the target customers / markets
  • Build an outstanding relationship with distributors, partners and SI’s
  • Work with global partners and equipment manufacturers
  • Generate product design wins for WiFi3
  • Technical understanding of wireless and/or networking technologies

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10 years experience in technical sales and business development
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Deep understanding of WiFi and wireless industry
  • Entrepreneurial with a high level of initiative and ambition

Senior RF IC Design Engineer

This individual will be responsible for developing advanced mixed signal analog/RF ICs for Edgewater Wireless System products. These ICs include classical RF/IF/analog circuits such as LNA, PA, mixers, VCAs, analog/digital PLLs and filters, and proprietary mixed-signal circuits.   • Lab characterization and system performance tests and system development activities
  • Fundamental understanding of analog/RF integrated circuits
  • Excellent knowledge of analog/RF IC design, layout, and verification methodologies

  • Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams

  • Drive sales in OEM and Solutions business units as an integral part of the Global Sales team by providing Technical Pre-Sales support to Global Sales team

  • General office support for a small telecom engineering development team
  • Limited effort for
    • shipping products to support pre-sales
    • tracking receivables
  • Purchasing for engineering group from key equipment and material vendors

RF Technologist

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on technical support for RF engineers in verification and testing of wireless products
  • Troubleshoot/Debugging RF & Digital circuits cards
  • PCB CAD design update
  • Prototype Circuit card modification and rework
  • Execute Hardware/RF test plan under senior engineer’s supervision
  • Create test reports for senior engineer’s review
  • Perform wireless range tests
  • Gather, collate, analyze test data from prototype and production test results
  • Interact closely with RF Hardware and software team in carrying out test and verification activities
  • Assist with the construction of Test Fixtures

Minimum Qualifications

  • Electronics Technologist diploma preferred
  • 2+ years of experience within a hardware product development environment

Senior WiFi Application Engineer

Edgewater Wireless Systems Inc. (EWSI) seeks a Senior WiFi Application Engineer to design and develop software for its ultra-wideband concurrent multi-channel extraction WiFi access point product.

Role & Responsibilities

This role requires design and development of both user interface and application over an embedded Linux operating system. In this role, you will be required to create designs based on requirements, present and review your designs with team members, implement and functionally test your design. At times, you may be required to help solve bugs within your domain of expertise and participate in design reviews/concepts of others.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Computer Science/Engineering completed with at least 7 years experience in commercial software application design
  • Expert level development skills using C/C++ and associated debugging
  • Hands-on experience creating web based user interfaces
  • Many years experience developing embedded applications on a Linux OS
  • Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, Routing protocols, 802.11 b/g/a/n/ac/ax

We have an immediate opening for a WiFi Radio Firmware Engineer. The successful candidate must be a hands-on problem solver who is able to work independently, take responsibility and produce high quality software.   • Further develop and improve upon the embedded firmware of our proprietary multi-channel radio cards
  • Create comprehensive design documentation to articulate your design approach(es)
  • Clearly outline your delivery milestones and provide status updates
  • Contribute your expertise to overall software design architecture and feature design (i.e. openly provide your ideas to others, participate in reviews, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Intimate, hands-on work experience with 802.11 protocols/standards (802.11b/g/a)
  •  5+ years experience designing embedded device drivers (preferably WiFi) including relevant debugging methodologies
  •  Multi-threaded/multi-core embedded systems
  • Experience developing/adapting software for micro-kernel operating systems
  •  Proficient in C/C++ programming language
  •  Working knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. LUA, Python)
  •  Experienced with the use of traffic generation equipment (e.g. Ixia) and network sniffers such as Wireshark
  •  An attitude to quickly “dig-in” and take ownership to driver your area of design/development
