Edgewater Wireless Product Certification Opens up Large Markets
EAP3000 WiFi Access Points Successfully Complete FCC Certification Testing
OTTAWA, CANADA – February 21, 2012 – Edgewater Wireless Systems Inc (YFI; TSX.V) is pleased to announce it has successfully completed FCC (Federal Communications Commission) Certification testing of its flagship EAP3000 family of wideband, multi-channel WiFi access point (AP) products. With this certification, Edgewater Wireless can begin selling EAP3000 units in the U.S. and other countries that rely on the regulatory approval of the FCC.
“FCC Certification is a major milestone achievement for Edgewater Wireless and opens up rapidly growing markets for us in the United States and globally,” said company President, Andrew Skafel. “The Wireless Broadband Alliance predicts that global demand for WiFi will increase 350% by 2015, bringing the total number of hot spots to 5.8 million from the approximate 1.3 million that are currently in use. Edgewater Wireless is ready to participate in that growth.”
The EAP3000 family of access points has been designed specifically to solve the capacity crunch created by the surging growth of smart phones and tablets. Edgewater Wireless’ multi-channel radio technology is proven to be more than 50 times faster compared to access points with single-channel radio solutions.
