Andrew Skafel, President & CEO

Responsible for leading Edgewater Wireless, Andrew’s broad strategic perspective comes from his work with both multinational equipment vendors and a number of start-up network operators. Andrew has significant multinational experience. He was based in Asia for seven years where he worked for Newbridge Networks/Alcatel; Silicon Valley-based, InterWAVE Communications and the Commercial Division of the Canadian High Commission (Malaysia). His roles included strategic marketing, international business development and business planning. A proven telecom innovator and leader, Andrew founded an innovative GSM operator in Brasil, taking the project from concept to fundraising, license acquisition and launch phases. Mr. Skafel holds an MBA from INSEEC (Paris), a graduate diploma from the McRae Institute of International Management (Vancouver) and a BA in Economics & Politics from the University of Western Ontario.

Duane Anderson, CTO and Technology Visionary

Duane Anderson founded Edgewater Computer Systems, Inc. in 1988 with the goal of developing theoretically correct real-time computer systems based on open system standards. He provides research and development consulting services to organizations, including the Canadian Department of National Defence, the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy, that require assistance to produce high-performance multi-processor systems. Mr. Anderson has driven Edgewater’s expansion to offer products in addition to services. He is at the forefront of the company’s development of wireless and wired communications as well as networking products, and of a new release of the 1553 military standard for data bus technology in military avionics. Previously, Mr. Anderson spent several years as a senior engineer and project engineer with a major manufacturer of VMEbus-based military computers. He also has experience as a principal designer of high-speed VLSI Tech test equipment. Additionally, he has worked in the research and development of microprocessor-based oilfield instrumentation, and as a developer of powersystem instrumentation technologies. Mr. Anderson has a BSc in electrical engineering from the University of Saskatchewan. He has been an active participant in real-time computer systems research and in high-performance interface standard developments by organizations such as the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Bob Harper, CFO

Robert is an experienced executive with strong financial management and capital raising background working with start-up and early stage enterprise development, banking, natural resource and technology financing, and business operations. Mr. Harper’s primary focus at Edgewater Wireless is to provide strategic and financial leadership as well as provide additional oversight on corporate governance and capital financing requirements.

Matt Massey, VP Marketing

A seasoned marketing professional, Matt has spent his career working to drive growth and create broad industry awareness, as well as customer and channel engagement globally for early stage, innovative technology companies. Marr has worked with start-ups like Watchfire (sold to IBM), Natural Convergence (sold to Broadview Networks), as well as major international technology brands. Matt is also Managing Director of drive2 Inc. A boutique marketing firm focused on new and expanding market development as well as outsource sales engagement solutions. With Edgewater Wireless, he works to expand the global awareness of WiFi3 technology as well as drive new partner and customer opportunities for the company.

John Prokopenko, VP Engineering

A highly respected, senior level technology executive, John has held senior technical leadership roles at ECSI, IBM, Rational Software, ObjecTime and Bell Northern Research.  He has delivered numerous successful commercial products in areas ranging from software development tooling, highly reliable distributed systems, real-time systems, SONET, wireless infrastructure, IP networking and advanced avionics communications. At ECSI, John played a critical role for the company’s advanced avionics networking and critical real-time software products.  Prior to ECSI, John has had extensive experience building and architecting high value products critical to the success of multiple companies.  While at ObjecTime, he was development director for their industry leading products which were acquired by Rational Software (acquired by IBM). During his tenure at Bell Northern Research (BNR), John lead multi-site teams working on SONET, GSM and telecom applications.  While at BNR, he received their highest award for leadership.  John holds an honours degree in Computer Science from Concordia University and received the Computer Science medal as top student in his graduating class.

Bert Whyte, Independent Director

Bert Whyte has held a variety of positions during his career, including President and CEO of Network Equipment Technologies (NET) www.net.com, and President of Advanced Computer Communications (ACC), both of California. Mr. Whyte successfully restructured NET to become a leading player in the emerging broadband and IP voice markets. Prior to this, Mr. Whyte turned ACC into a market leader in IP routing which was eventually acquired by the giant Swedish Telecom company Ericsson for just under US$300M. Mr. Whyte was also one of the early employees of Newbridge Networks Corporation, a company founded by Terry Matthews and subsequently sold to Alcatel. Mr. Whyte has been active in the investment community, and has participated in a number of mergers and acquisitions over his career.

J. Lewis Dillman, Former President and CEO of Kik Polymers

Mr. Dillman is a seasoned management executive with more than 15 years of experience in the public and private resource industry. He has extensive contacts in the energy and venture tech industry and financial communities. Mr. Dillman has over 20 years experience in successfully managing both public and private companies. He is currently the president of Abenteuer Resources corp a TSX issuer and has recently advanced venture projects in Asia , the Middle East and Russia. Mr. Dillman is a Businessman. He holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in International Affairs from Lewis and Clark College. Mr. Dillman is a graduate of Columbia University School of International Affairs in New York State with a Masters degree in International Affairs with a specialization in International Banking and Finance.

Brian Imrie, Chairman and Owner, Debro, Inc.

Mr. Imrie is the Chairman and owner of Debro Inc., a privately owned chemical distribution company. Between 2009 and 2012, Mr. Imrie was Partner and Global Head of Mining M & A for KPMG Corporate Finance and was responsible for creating an integrated global mining advisory team based in over ten countries overseeing in excess of $500M in mining transactions. Prior to working with KPMG Mr. Imrie was Managing Director and Co-Head of M & A for National Bank Financial for seven years (2001-2008) and was responsible for numerous high profile mining transactions. Mr. Imrie has also worked with Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse. Mr. Imrie received his MBA from Harvard University in 1987 and his BA from the University of Toronto in 1983.

Jane Barratt, Founder and CEO, GoldBean

Ms. Barratt is the founder & CEO of GoldBean, an SEC registered investment advisor that provides algorithm driven advice, education and access to low-cost trades, all on hellogoldbean.com. Ms. Barratt spent more than 20 years driving growth for Fortune 500 companies, including many financial services institutions. She is also an author on Lynda.com and Investopedia.com
