Hardware Technician/Technologist

Edgewater Wireless Systems has an opening for a part-time Hardware Tech. Role & Responsibilities

  • Assemble electronic products with minimal oversight
  • Source electronic and mechanical component from suppliers such as Digikey and Mouser
  • Maintain Bill of Materials
  • Interface with Contract Manufacturing partner for large quantity production runs

Minimum Qualifications
  • Technician or technology diploma
  • Knowledge and demonstrated familiarity with passive and active electronic components
  • Aptitude for hands-on assembly and debug and repair of electronics communication products

Senior WiFi Application Engineer

Edgewater Wireless Systems Inc. (EWSI) seeks a senior WiFi application engineer to design and develop software for its multi-channel WiFi access point product.Connect with us at careers@edgewaterwireless.com

Role & Responsibilities

This role requires design and development of both user interface and application over an embedded Linux operating system. In this role, you will be required to create designs based on requirements, present and review your designs with team members, implement and functionally test your design. At times you may be required to help solve bugs within your domain of expertise and participate in design reviews/concepts of others.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Computer Science/Engineering completed with at least 7 years experience in commercial software application design
  • Expert level development skills using C/C++ and associated debugging
  • Hands-on experience creating web based user interfaces
  • Many years experience developing embedded applications on a Linux OS
  • Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, Routing protocols, 802.11 b/g/a

Desired Skills

  • OpenWRT experience
  • Experience with LuCi (OpenWRT) user interface development
  • Have developed applications for WiFi Access Points

Engineering Intern

Edgewater Wireless is looking for a bright, energetic, and innovative student to become part of our innovative team. The intern will help Wi-Fi software development, tools development, integration, design and problem analysis.

Role & Responsibilities

The intern will support engineering project(s) and this may include such activities as: supporting product certification activities, assembly of new product test equipment, documentation of test methods, measurement systems analysis, hands-on product testing and review of product test projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree/diploma in Engineering/Computer Science
  • Completion of Junior year (minimum) at start of internship
  • Overall 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Demonstrated self-initiative and responsibility

Role & Responsibilities:

  • You will increase partner growth and profitability by ensuring that a wireless technology practice area critical to the partners’ success is represented by Edgewater Wireless.
  • You will identify, recruit, develop, and maintain key target partners within the territory.
  • You will develop and maintain positive & proactive relationships with partner sales, management, marketing, and other corporate functions, to gain mindshare and drive sales activity.
  • You will create and execute partner strategic business planning, align business strategies, and develop account specific attack plans to maximize opportunity.
  • You will work with our partners and the Edgewater Wireless team to create development and training plans to ensure partner readiness, technical capabilities and Wi-Fi sales expertise.

WiFi Radio Firmware Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

As a WiFi Radio Firmware engineer you will:
• Further develop and improve upon the embedded firmware of our proprietary multi-channel radio cards
• Create comprehensive design documentation to articulate your design approach(es)
• Clearly outline your delivery milestones and provide status updates
• Contribute your expertise to overall software design architecture and feature design (i.e. openly provide your ideas to others, participate in reviews, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• Intimate, hands-on work experience with 802.11 protocols/standards (802.11b/g/a)
• 5+ years experience designing embedded device drivers (preferably WiFi) including relevant debugging methodologies
• Multi-threaded/multi-core embedded systems
• Experience developing/adapting software for micro-kernel operating systems
• Proficient in C/C++ programming language
• Working knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. LUA, Python)
• Experienced with the use of traffic generation equipment (e.g. Ixia) and network sniffers such as Wireshark
• An attitude to quickly “dig-in” and take ownership to driver your area of design/development
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Desired Skills

• Experience creating software for ARC processing cores
• Experience porting OSs to target processors
